About Chattypet
Chattypet is about pets! We give pets a voice!
Chattypet gives our animal companions their own place to talk about their lives and their relationships with the people who care for them.
It's all from the pets' point of view.
We provide a way for pets to talk in first-person.
Actually, it's the guardians -- the people who take care of their animal companions -- that share their pets' perspectives in a safe and compassionate environment. By sharing from pets' perspectives, deeper understanding and creative insight may result that has the potential to improve everyone's ability to care responsibly for all of our pet friends. By recognizing the important role pets play in our lives, we move toward a different world, one where pets are guaranteed a lifetime of the best care possible.
All pets are invited to join our community, providing they have a human guardian to listen to them, translate for them, and type for them, of course!
As an interactive online community, Chattypet is an exciting place for pets to:
- Connect with each other
- Voice their opinions and tell stories about their experiences
- Chat about their guardians/foster guardians and their lives together
- Support organizations that rescue abandoned pets or train animals to care for people
- Help abandoned pets find loving forever homes, we donate 10% of our proceeds to recognized charities that help companion animals.
- Find pet-centered resources
- Share information about all kinds of pet topics - fun and serious - including nutrition, health, play, safety, travel, and relaxation, as well as pet training and people education!
But wait, pets aren't people!
Well, yes and no. They are their own creatures, with their own ways, and their own specific care requirements. We know that many people think of their pets in human terms, and will speak for them in this way. However, we wish to encourage people to also think of their pet's needs and sensitivities as being different from their own, as well. Chattypet wants to help people to understand pets more completely. And by thinking of them more completely, people learn to respond in ways that deeply benefit the guardian-pet bond.
And this is what Chattypet is all about.
